Age: 41
Hometown: Sacramento, CA
Family: Happily married to
Jim, with a great 12 year old stepdaughter, rounded out by Aloysius and David Ann, my feline-American workout supervisors
Occupation: transportation planner
Fitness level: Advanced
(mostly)
Collecting videos: Since probably around 1993 or 94. I rented a couple
of videos first - Kathy Kaehler, Cherfitness, Flo-Jo. The first one I
actually bought was Kathy Smith's Fat Burning Workout. Then I joined a gym
and did step classes, weight machines, and running, so I wasn't buying many
tapes. It was when I quit the gym in 1996 that my collection really took
off. , amassing all these videos in just over 3 years. I guess I like
variety!
Number of Videos Owned: Around 200, as of early 2001, and adding more all the time. All CIA preorders are fair game!
Current fitness goals: I'd like to be able to do all the power moves in CIA
9905 and/or Body Max. I'd also like to look like to be able to do regular
push ups and have a flat stomach. First and foremost, my goal is to stay
healthy. Aside from that, someday I am going to conquer Patrick Goudeau's
choreography and Mindy Mylrea's intensity! And I'd still like to have a
flat stomach and thighs that didn't rub together. But I'll settle for
keeping a consistent workout schedule.
Loved ones' opinion of video habit: My family is totally supportive (not that they have a choice!), and very accommodating. My
husband is happy that I'm happy, my stepdaughter (like most teens) thinks,
"whatever!", and my cats like to supervise. Now that I have a bigger house
with a room to work out in, I'm imposing on my family a lot less.
Everybody's happy with that!

Underrated:
Marcus Irwin - this guy is terrific! Really fun personality, great cueing,
creative choreography - he's got everything but a good video distribution
deal!
CIA 7004 - it taught me that I really can do complex choreography after
all!
Biggest Disappointments:
Even as popular as it is, I just don't like kickboxing. I am also
disappointed that a greater variety of exercise videos (like the new FIRMs)
aren't available at retail.
Would love to see:
I want to hear BETTER MUSIC! No more Dynamix - how about some rock, or
disco, or soul, or something recognizable? Great music really motivates you
when you're starting to get tired. One of the reasons I love Your Personal
Best, even though it's an intermediate tape, is because of the great music.
We need some better music in advanced tapes, please!
Words of Wisdom:
What do I know? I do what I like, try to do something every day, and hope
it works. Everyone has a different body, different goals, different tapes
they like, so the best advice I have is to experiment and find what you
like - it's the only way you'll stick with it.
