Video Fitness is a thriving online community whose members are dedicated to helping each other make the most of a home exercise program. Members accomplish this by writing
reviews of the exercise videos that they use regularly, and by sharing advice and opinions in the
Reader Forum.
We do not sell videos, so our community members can be totally honest about whether a fitness video lives up to its claims and the reviewers' expectations. If you're looking for a place to buy the videos you read about here, see our Sources section.
Video Fitness was built in early 1996 by Wendy Niemi Kremer with help from other home exercise enthusiasts who believe you don't have to belong to a gym or play a sport to be an athlete. If you enjoy videofitness.com, find out how you can support this Web site through your online purchases and contributions.
You may submit press releases about new videos at any time by emailing them to contact@stream.fit.
Anyone may submit fitness DVDs to us for review--we do review videos that we feel will be of interest to our members but do not guarantee a review. Please be patient for a review to be posted, however, as we always have a significant backlog of videos to review. Whenever possible, we try to find a reviewer who is part of the video's target audience.
Most of our reviewers aren't fitness experts--we are fitness enthusiasts who use fitness videos as our primary fitness activity or as cross training. We share our personal opinions so that other consumers will know what they're buying and can choose videos appropriate for them. Beyond the quality of the workout itself, we comment on music, production values, instructor personality, and other subjective factors that may be important to someone who uses a video dozens or even hundreds of times over the video's lifespan. We also compare the video to others on the market that target a similar audience.
Once a review is written, it will be posted whether it is positive or negative. Most of the video reviews you'll find on our site contain both positive and negative comments, because we want consumers to know who probably will and who probably won't like each video.
If you wish to submit a DVD for review consideration, please send a
copy to the contact address in the left column. DVDs must be able to be played in US DVD players. If both VHS and DVD editions are available, DVD edition is preferred so that we can include information about any bonus DVD features and chaptering in our review. If you have a media kit or press release, please include it in the package. Thanks!
