VF Reader-approved DVD Models

It's likely there are other models on the market that program across titles and discs, but the models listed on this page as recommended models definitely perform as advertised.

Note that model numbers change frequently, and while a successor model should have all the functionality of a previous model, it's worth investigating further to be sure that is the case.

Single disc players

These DVD players will program across titles on one disc:

Toshiba SD 2109.
Sony CD/DVD Player DVP-S560D.

Multi-disc DVD players

These players will program across titles and across multiple DVD discs, hence will be the most versatile option

Pioneer DV-C302D (holds 3 DVD discs)

Not recommended

The following models disappointed DVD buyers for the reasons listed below with each entry.

Toshiba SD-3109.
This model allededly allows you to program across discs, but will only program across multiple AUDIO discs.
Panasonic DVD-CV50
This model is not programmable at all, even though it holds multiple discs.
Onkyo DV-C601
Supposedly programmable across DVDs. Though programming worked on a single DVD, it did not work across multiple DVD discs.
Zenith DVC2550 5-disc carousel DVD changer Program play function is possible only with audio CDs. It does not work with DVD discs.
