I can scarcely believe it has been six years since the first version of this Web site appeared online, then again, it has undergone such enormous changes (as has my own life) that it seems like an eternity. I suppose six years on the Web is an eternity.
For those of you who have always wondered how VF got started and what keeps us running, read the brief
History of VF. Some of you have also wanted to know who the heck
WWWendy is, anyway. You can also check out some of the
awards and recognition we've won along the way, and see
screen shots that capture moments in VF's past. I hope you enjoy those pages.
I have been especially proud to see our online community extending further into the real world during this past year. There have been real-life VF gatherings in more than 30 cities. You can see some of the pictures in our Photo Album. VF community members have even taken fitness holidays together, trekking to visit the FIRM studios, Cathe Friedrich's club in New Jersey, or to
watch the filming of Christi Taylor's videos. Some of you have joined together to run or walk in charity 5K's, 10K's, triathlons and skating events.
I have been thrilled to realize that the community members I've met are just as I imagined them to be from their posts--I've found our members to be so open, honest, and supportive that the media's warnings about Internet acquaintances seem out of place in the context of our own community. You have shared, given, and exchanged your videos generously, and offered advice to all who come here.
Whatever your age or your fitness goals, I hope you'll stick around to help VF celebrate its next birthday a year from now.
